Saved by the Manongs

I have long believed in the saying, "When it rains, it pours." -- and today was something one for the books. It started with the fact that today is a Saturday, and by that it meant I literally had to drag my ass to work because most of the Spammers were on a restday, and only me and Neo were the only two left at the office. I had to endure 9 friggin hours of boredom (or make that about 7 and a half, thanks to the people I played texas hold'em with at msn.) I had a 14% failing sales conversion which means i'm again on the verge of PDP for the month of August. Logged out as soon as 5:30 ticked and waited for half an hour for the fort bus to come. I went to starbucks and bought a frapuccino to compensate for the series of unfortunate events that has happened. When I got into the counter, I was faced with a perky barista who took my name and asked, "How are you, janine?" My face was a blank..spelling haggard all over. I guess she took that as a sign not to continue on so she just gave me my change. I got my drink and it felt so rewarding. When I got to the Landmark shuttle terminal, I thought i was finally in luck since the van i got into was only waiting for the last 3 passengers, and i was one of those. But to my disgust, the van reeked of puke as soon as i opened the door. I wanted to get home quickly so tiniis ko nalang and sprayed perfume all over. The ride was fast along skyway, but upon reaching Sucat interchange, horrible traffic spawned. We were stuck for about an hour not moving, (it was a good thing I had my headphones to listen to the radio in my phone) until our driver couldn't take the clog no longer. He motioned for the left signal and I thought he was going to take a U-turn and go through alabang inside BF, but what he did was better. We went on the other side of the highway and counter-flowed the vehicles. Now imagine that, i couldn't be more thankful. Astig ni manong!! Hehehe. Anyway, I finally reached the corner of our village when I saw that it was flooded knee-high!! Langya, I just didnt expect it would get any worse. I instantly called my mom to fetch me, but she wasn't at home and was stuck at the same traffic that I had hardly eluded! I was between the devil and the deep blue sea (although I think brown suits it better, eeww!) Either I wait for my mom standing in vain for an hour in front of Julie's bakeshop (tlgang may ganong drama) or risk the infection of having ALIPUNGA! Ew! Ew! Ew!! I saw some people braving the mirky water, but there was no way I'd do that! Then suddenly out of the dark came manong with his pedicab. I shouted to call his attention, and seconds later I found myself cruising through the baha. He dropped me off 5 yards away and gave him a twenty. Todo-smile pa sha and said "pamasko" nya na daw yun. Aaawww manong, stop! haha. And that was how my stroke of badluck finally ended. *bow*
